Community Recreation Support Program
This is an ideal
program for PEI’s rinks, arenas and other recreation facilities looking to
reduce operating costs through energy efficiency upgrades and the
integration of renewable energy. Section four of the program addresses
facilities development, and includes the following options:
1. Major New Facility Construction/Major
Upgrades (Project cost more than $5,000)
• 25% of costs to a
maximum of $50,000
2. Minor New Facility Construction/Upgrades
(Projects cost
less than $5,000)
• 50% of costs to
a maximum of $2,500
3. Facility Design Plans
• 50% of costs to a maximum of $2,500
Energy Meters:
Energy Meters for home energy use now available from
the Provincial Library or from the Office of
Energy Efficiency.
PST Exemption:
The Province of Prince Edward Island provides a PST
exemption on small-scale renewable energy equipment with a rating of 100
kilowatts or less (100 kilowatts). For more details please click here.
Tax Incentive for
Hybrid Vehicles:
The Province of PEI offers a provincial sales tax
rebate of up to $3,000 on hybrid vehicles purchased or leased since March
30, 2004. For more click here.
